Dental Implant Solutions in Newcastle
"Dental implants have been described as the gold standard for replacing missing teeth. They not only look, feel and function like natural teeth they can restore the bite, stabilize the supporting bone, and prevent damage to surrounding teeth"
Whether you've lost one teeth, a few teeth, or all your teeth dental implants at The Cosmetic Dental Clinic in Newcastle may have the solution for your problems.
Dental Implants are small titanium fixtures which serve as a replacement for the root portion of a missing natural tooth. It will bond with the bone over time and thus serve as an anchor for the replacement tooth. Dental Implants can be used to replace single, multiple, or all teeth.
At the Cosmetic Dental Clinic we only use the Nobel Biocare implants. These implants have been placed for over 40 years on millions of patients. They have been extremely successful. Long term studies confirm 95% success of individual implants, even higher rates for the bridges they support.
Our focus is providing a stable and secure foundation, with the minimum amount of discomfort. After full integration a highly aesthetic crown or bridge can be attached. Once the implant is successfully integrated with the bone we use our smile design know how used for all our crown and bridgework to give a highly aesthetic long lasting result.
One tooth missing
"Restoring a missing tooth with an implant is usually the treatment of choice compared with bridges and dentures"
If sufficient bone is available replacing a missing tooth with a dental implant has several advantages:
Teeth either side do not need to be drilled or undergo extra pressure
The surrounding bone is supported and prevented from further resorbtion
Implants are usually a longer lasting option
Implants usually are stronger and support the bite forces better
The don't move around and interfere with speech like dentures
Our dentists can in around 50% of cases provide an immediate tooth replacement solution on the day the implant is fitted. This limits the inconvenience of tempory dentures and un-sightly visible spaces .
Several teeth missing
"Restoring the loss of several missing teeth with dental implants not only satisfies the aesthetic demands, it can protect the remaining teeth from excessive force and further damage"
When several teeth are missing it can become difficult to chew properly. Replacing these teeth with dental implants can give the confidence to choose any food without worry of a moving denture or un-comfortable sensations. Quite often if the several teeth are missing in the same area a bridge can be firmly attached to the underlying implants as seen in the illustration above. Please contact the practice if you think implants could help you.
All teeth missing
"All of our Implant dentists have studied at the prestigious Malo Institute in Lisbon, Portugal, the home of the all-on-4 implant technique where a full arch of teeth can be fitted in just one day on 4 dental implants"
The all-on-4 technique has revolutionised the way we can now replace a full arch or a full mouth of missing teeth. It allows fixed teeth to be installed on the same day the dental implants are placed. This can significantly reduce time in the dental chair and reduce pain, stress, and cost compared with traditional techniques.
The procedure involves detailed planning, usually with a CT scan to assess the correct and best place to install 4 strategically placed dental implants. Smile design is used to decide on colour, shape, and position of the teeth. Our patients can now walk in with no or badly damaged teeth and have their implants and a tempory bridge fitted all on the same day in our Newcastle city centre practice. Usually this is replaced with a permanent bridge after a few months. Please call to arrange a consultation to see if this technique could be suitable for you.
