Dr Darren Cannell
Dr Darren Cannell is director and co-founder of The Cosmetic Dental Clinic.
He graduated from Newcastle University Dental School in 2001 and was awarded the prestigious James Coltman Award in recognition of skill in operative dentistry. He then began post-graduate training in restorative and cosmetic dentistry while working at two prominent Northwest practices.
In 2006, Dr Cannell returned to the North East and founded The Cosmetic Dental Clinic (Newcastle) together with friend and colleague Dr Andy Stafford.
Darren is a member of The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) and has travelled, studied and lectured internationally to refine his skills in smile design, smile rehabilitation, reconstruction and aesthetic dentistry alongside some of the world’s most prominent dentists.
He was one of the first UK dentists to be listed as a “Diamond Apex Provider” and has been delivering Invisalign since 2004.
He completed a Masters Degree (MSc) in Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry at the University of Manchester and not only did he achieve “Distinction” but was awarded the individual “Highest Achiever Award”.
He has been delivering Dental Implant Treatments since his training at Sheffield University in 2008 and has also trained at the Spear Campus in Arizona, US, and the world-renowned Malo Clinic in Lisbon, Portugal.
Darren is a certified Cerec Ortho Trainer who has delivered lectures worldwide on the digital system. As an early Invisalign® adopter and the UK’s first Platinum Elite provider, Darren was among the first dentist’s to realise CEREC’s potential for improving Invisalign® results.
Darren is a member of the US-based CerecDoctors Academy, the American Academy Of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), and an Expert member of The British Dental Association (BDA).
