Dr Mathew Sims BDSGDC 103971

Associate Dentist
BDS Newcastle 2006
Dr Mat Sims graduated from Newcastle University Dental School in 2006, collecting the John Proctor Prize (awarded in recognition of outstanding operative skill) along the way. He has lived and worked in the local area for the last 18 years.
Mat has undertaken many hours of post-graduate dental education in the field of Cosmetic Dentistry, under the tutelage of some of the world’s leading cosmetic dentists. Two year-long ‘hands on’ Cosmetic Dentistry courses with internationally-renowned Dr Paul Tipton; (for which he received a Special Commendation award in recognition of his clinical skill) and Dr Chris Orr have enabled Mat to hone his clinical technique and theoretical understanding of smile design using the very best materials. He continues to attend advanced courses to enable him to further progress and expand his skills in both restorative and orthodontic aspects of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Mat holds particular interests in whitening teeth, aligning them with a variety of orthodontic options including Invisalign, and providing aesthetic composite bonding to help people achieve straight, even, white teeth without the need for invasive treatments.
His acute attention to detail in the careful planning and provision of his treatments enable Mat to achieve perfect results for his patients. His treatments can often now be visualised in advance before you start with the latest 3D scanners, which can also remove the need for uncomfortable impressions.
Mat is a member of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, an organisation for dentists who are dedicated to the provision of excellent cosmetic and aesthetic dentistry.
In his spare time Mat enjoys spending time with his son, playing golf and squash, and snowboarding when the opportunity arises.
